The homecoming dance was a great way to end Spirit Week. While planning the dance was somewhat stressful, it was worth it in the end. I really enjoyed being able to spend time with my friends and I’m glad that my last homecoming was memorable. “Sammy J” was an awesome DJ, too!
The night before the dance, the homecoming king and queen were crowned during the football game’s halftime. I could feel the anticipation in the audience as I struggled to open up the results with the winners. To make the night even greater, West Catholic had an amazing 39-6 victory against Allendale!
Another fun annual Spirit Week activity was the homecoming assembly on Friday. Everyone in the school was represented with teams ranging from freshmen to the staff, who competed in an inflatable obstacle course. The senior boys taking the victory after the freshmen were disqualified is definitely something that the class of 2023 will remember.
One last competition that took place was a West Catholic Spirit Week tradition, the powderpuff game. Junior and senior girls competed in a flag football competition on Thursday night. The scores were extremely close throughout the entire game, but the senior girls impressively pulled through with a victory to show the juniors who runs the school!
