West Catholic Announces Initial Plans for Back-to-School

Thursday, July 23, 2020

As Gov. Whitmer has unveiled her MI Safe Schools: Michigan’s 2020-21 Return to School Roadmap, we are now able to finalize our plans for re-opening West Catholic on August 19. We are required to submit plans to the State Superintendent prior to the start of school for both Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the reopen Michigan plan. We will make the full plan available to you when all details are finalized. We will follow the necessary requirements and work with the Kent County Health Department to form sensible policy, making sure our students, staff and community are safe. And we will continue to provide our students with a cutting-edge, dynamic, excellence-driven education.

Our current plans center around the knowledge that there is no substitute for in-class instruction and human interaction. Yet during this pandemic, we recognize the need to provide flexibility and choice so we can provide an excellent education while protecting the health of each and every student and staff member. We can get through this together!
