Our co-op hockey team is collecting the following items for Kids Food Basket from Feb. 10-22.

  • Cheese crackers (Cheez-Its, Goldfish, etc.)
  • Graham Crackers
  • Triscuits

Please bring these items to the athletic office so we can distribute them to our players and share in this wonderful cause!

Consider joining the technology department LA trip next school year. The trip will take place from Feb. 12-16, 2021 (during Midwinter Break). Any freshman, sophomore or junior who has taken at least one technology class is eligible to go!

There will be an information meeting during lunch/homeroom on Wednesday, Feb. 12 in room 301 for interested students.

Haven’t taken a technology class, but still want to go? Sign up for a technology class next year to become eligible.

Some of the exciting places we will visit include:

  • Santa Monica and Venice Beach
  • Hollywood Boulevard
  • Disneyland
  • Warner Brothers Studio Tour

The Newman Society is currently accepting applications for its Essay Scholarship Contest for high school seniors! The winner will receive $5,000 towards the cost of attending one of the colleges or universities recommended in The Newman Guide for the fall of 2020. But hurry! The deadline is February 17. The Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan is seeking applications for the 2020 BBB Trust Scholarship. This scholarship is available to high school seniors in the class of 2020 who attend high school in the BBB's 38 county service area. The scholarship recognizes young adults who demonstrate the values of trust and ethics that have been a hallmark of the Better Business Bureau for more than 100 years. Students are encouraged to submit a short essay describing the importance of honesty, integrity, transparency and impact and how the student displays these characteristics. Winners will be celebrated at the Better Business Bureau's Trust Award ceremony in May 2020. Applications are due May 1, 2020.

The first phase of enrollment at Kent Career Tech Center runs from Feb. 3-March 20. Most KCTC programs are open to juniors and seniors. Design Lab is open to sophomores.
