Current COVID-19 Guidance for High Schools

News Type:  Daily Student Parent Staff Date:  Monday, January 3, 2022

Last week, the CDC came out with new recommendations of shorter isolation and quarantine times. The Kent County Health Department has let us know these do not apply to K-12 schools. The August mandate by the KCHD will continue to be in effect until a new order is written. Isolation remains at 10 days, with quarantines having a 7-day, 10-day or 14-day option. A test-to-stay option is available in some cases.

Additionally, the definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ has changed to include boosters. While the KCHD is recommending this change, it is not in the existing mandate.

I will provide full details once the new mandate is written. In the meantime, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
