International Program

Making the world a smaller place

The West Catholic High School International Program welcomes dozens of students from around the globe each year and is designed to prepare them for attending universities in the United States. Our students who successfully complete all courses required earn their high school diploma and are assisted in the college application and admittance process. Continuous academic support and individualized programs are tailored to meet the needs of each student.

Recent West Catholic international student graduates have attended the following universities:

  • Michigan State University*
  • New York University
  • University of Connecticut
  • University of Michigan*
  • University of Washington

*Attending high school for 2-3 years in the state of Michigan is a pathway to in-state tuition costs at these universities as well as others.

International Support Team

Leann Garrison, our International Program Coordinator, provides our international students with support both in and out of the classroom.  She is here to ensure academic success and also organizes trips to immerse students in Michigan culture.

Diane Ysasi, the international student counselor, will help students choose classes that best fit their needs, apply for colleges, and be here as an additional support system for her students.
