The Robert and Larita Stephanak Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is to provide needs-based tuition assistance to incoming freshman, sophomore, and junior students attending West Catholic High School.

  • Financial need is of primary consideration. If a financial need persists and the family states its financial case in the annual application process, this scholarship can be used by the same student for tuition assistance for all four years.
  • The family/student must be a registered member of a parish within the diocese of Grand Rapids. Proof of registration must accompany the scholarship application.
  • The student must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA in order to apply for this scholarship. Proof of this GPA, in the form of their previous year’s report card or a letter from the school, must accompany the scholarship application.
  • Two (2) letters (from teachers, parish priest, neighbors, etc.) explaining why they feel the student should be considered for a scholarship must accompany the application.
  • All students applying for The Robert and Larita Stephanak Scholarship must have completed fifteen (15) hours of community service on an annual basis. Documentation from the agency where the community/church service was performed must be included with the scholarship application.
  • All applicants must be of good character and have demonstrated a consistent respect for authority
