Opportunities for Service Hours

Attention Students: Below are a couple of opportunities for Service Hours!

Sophia’s House, Grand Rapids
Looking for local high school students to give back in their community. There are two different programs that high school students in clubs such as National Honor Society, Student Council and Varsity team sports would be able to get involved with. We have a What’s Cookin’ program that allows groups to come in from the community and cook a meal for the patients and their families who are staying with us here at Sophia’s House. This is a great opportunity for students to gain volunteer hours and for team building activities. What’s Cookin’ at Sophia’s House – 2018

We also have a program called Stock the Pantry that allows outside groups to do canned food drives, paper good drives, or any other donations and bring them here to Sophia’s House to assist those guests who are staying with us during a tough time in their lives. We appreciate anything that the community would like to do and think it’s a great opportunity for high school students to get involved in their community.

Catholic Charities West Michigan
There is an urgent “group” volunteer need to assist with our agencies largest fundraiser, Soup’s On For All! on Monday, 1/29 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. We are in need of a group 10-20 to assist with set-up of the event. This volunteer need includes set-up of bowl displays, placing signage, assembling pipe & drape and moving supplies to each floor of venue. As a thank you, we are offering some goodies and a complimentary lunch at Bobarinos.

If you or someone you know would be interested in a fun and meaningful volunteer day, please reach out to Tiffany Page at 616.551.5666 or reach out to Holly Salas at hsalas@ccwestmi.org or at 616.224.1294.
