Design Thinking Showcase and Screenagers Viewing
Join us on Thursday, April 27, for a year-end student showcase celebrating design thinking in the classroom. Design thinking innovates by considering people’s needs, technology possibilities, and requirements for professional success. At our showcase, teachers, students and administrators will demonstrate design-thinking projects which were inspired by a four-day Xavier University workshop attended last summer by 20 teachers and administrators from Catholic schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids. Since then, these educators have been collaborating within the diocese and with local industry experts to provide students with unique classroom experiences aligned with relevant, real-life skills such as: empathy, team work, leadership, creative thinking, and innovative problem solving.
The April 27 showcase is an open house event at Aquinas College, in the Wege Ballroom, 1700 Fulton St. East, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Anyone may attend without a reservation from 5-8 p.m.
We’re also offering a free opportunity at this event to see the documentary Screenagers: Growing up in the Digital Age. Last October, we showed this powerful film to a sell-out crowd of 271. Seating is limited for Screenagers, which will run from 6-7:30. Click Here to reserve your free ticket for the film at this link. For more information on the entire event please Click Here.
