Pollution Monitor at West Catholic is Online!

The West Catholic Weather Station is now online.  To view the weather station from a web browser click here West Catholic Weather Station or if you prefer an app from a mobile device check out any one of the three Weather Underground apps:
– Weather Underground – For weather forecast information
– WU Storm – For current weather storm tracking in High Definition
– WunderStation – To view the West Catholic weather station sensors in detail
The West Catholic weather station ID is: KMIGRAND235

West Catholic has recently become the first high school in the state of Michigan to have a publicly reporting pollution monitor installed at the school!  To see the current reporting information for the pollution monitor click this link for a map view.

To view the West Catholic High School station click the green circle in Grand Rapids (attached is a screenshot of what you should expect to see).

The Pollution Monitor was made possible by a generous grant from the Lena Allgeier Grant Foundation – to support new technology integration at both Catholic Central & West Catholic. The grant also provided funds for the school to be able to install a personal weather station on the school grounds. With both tools combined, West Catholic will be able contribute to ongoing atmospheric research to understand how pollution and weather are connected. The weather station will be connected to the internet later this week – once installed all the data from both stations will be publicly available to everyone!

For more information on the Pollution Monitor check out the link at https://www.purpleair.com/faq.
