Special Jeans-Athletic Wear Day on Friday for Camille Frede

We will be having a special jeans/athletic wear day on Friday, December 15, to raise funds for the family of Camille Frede, Class of 2008. Camille is in need of a heart/lung transplant and a gofundme page has been set up to help with the costs of her care. In addition to keeping Camille and her family in our prayers, students will be allowed to wear jeans and/or appropriate athletic wear for a minimum donation of $2. Aquinas Dual Enrollment Orientation

Any student who is taking an Aquinas Dual Enrollment class for the first time must attend the orientation. The orientation will take place on Tuesday, December 12 at 4 p.m. in the Academic Building at Aquinas College. You will meet your professor, be able to buy your books, get your Student ID, access your IT portholes for class, and learn about your access to Aquinas College departments such as our library and writing center. You MUST bring with you a state / government issued photo ID (such as driver’s license, passport, or State of MI ID card).

You will also receive your class schedule and information from our Information Technology and Services department regarding the use of our ELM portal. ELM services include MyAQ (course schedules, grades, etc.), CourseConnect (online course management tools), The Moose (campus news), AQnet (our high-speed internet only network), E-mail, Documents (online file storage/sharing), and Calendar. You will log in at orientation and will need to keep this keep this information throughout your time in your dual enrollment class. You will be required to use this information for assignments, notes, etc. Textbooks information will be coming to you via email within the next week. Books will be available at your Orientation or you may use the information to shop through the coming weeks.

If you have any questions about the Dual Enrollment Program, please give us a call at 632-2062. If you are unable to attend your orientation, please let us know ASAP.

Volunteer to Help Younger Students

Tutors Are Needed at Partner Schools:  Some schools need help in the after-school study center helping students with reading, math, and other elementary and middle school topics.

Holy Spirit, Holy Trinity, and St. Anthony have asked for high school volunteers to help in this area.  You can contact Mrs. Cortes for more information, or contact your local school directly.  This is a dependable way to earn service hours and see how your help directly affects someone.

GROUNDHOG SHADOW DAY 2018 – 300 spots still available

Attention December 2 SAT Takers at GR Christian!

Any student from the December 2nd SAT test at Grand Rapids Christian who had the test cancelled due to a power outage should be receiving an email from College Board with the make-up date and registration instructions. Students will be provided with a free make-up SAT on Saturday, December 16 at GR Christian. This SAT date is only available to those affected by the December 2nd power outage.

Student Government – Clothing Drive

Student Government is hosting their annual winter clothing drive from December 4 to December 20. Homerooms are asked to bring in donations for one of two groups: Stocking Elementary needs kid sized glove, mittens or hats and Degage is in need of chapstick, vaseline, mens undershirts or t-shirts (any size), rain ponchos or umbrellas.
