The American Legion Department of Michigan will be hosting a Student Trooper training, July 9-14, 2017, at the Michigan State Police Training Academy in Lansing. The application deadline is May 26, 2017. Go to http://michiganlegion.org/student-trooper.html
The Spirit Store located in the school has been temporarily closed to make way for the new construction, but a “pop up” store will be open in the athletic area on the following dates and times. Just follow the signs!
Additional dates the “pop up” store will be open:
- Wednesday, April 12, 3:00-5:00pm – last chance for Easter basket items
- Friday, April 28 – 3:00-4:30pm – after Prom assembly
- Wednesday, May 10, 6:30-7:00pm – before middle school band concert
- Thursday, June 1, 3:00-5:00pm – last chance to purchase before summer
There is a meeting for any student interested in joining the Fishing Club on Tuesday, April 11, at 5:30pm in the team room.
Seniors – Prom court voting is open on Naviance. Please vote by Thursday, March 30th. Court will be announced on Friday March 31st.
St. Alphonsus is glad to invite the community to attend His Last Days on Palm Sunday. His Last Days is a moving story in song as told by Jesus. Come and experience the voice of Jesus as a way to prepare for Holy Week.
If you are not going on Spring Break and looking to make some extra cash, please reach out to Mrs. Winowiecki at firstname.lastname@example.org. She is looking for a student in the Sparta area to look after their pets during Spring Break! You will need transportation and preferably live near the Sparta area.
Sophomores and Juniors interested in KCTC should talk to their counselor about setting up a program visit. Some programs like Criminal Justice and the Health Science Early College Academy (HSECA) programs have applications that are required. The HSECA applications are due March 17. We’ve set up some fantastic job shadow opportunities for 9-12th grade students! Join us for Explorers, a 1.5-hours job-shadow experience designed to give you a behind-the-scenes look at a career of interest. Join us on May 3 from 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. We have many exciting opportunities in healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, technology and design available! Registration ends soon! TALK & TOUR CAREER SERIES
These evening career exploration events are like getting five job shadows in one! Students and parents, come hear directly from a panel of professionals, ask your career questions, and tour the organization’s workspace. Join us on March 28 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Careers in Design, Graphic Design, User Experience Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design and others! This event will feature a tour of a special “Design Week 2017” exhibit called the process gallery, which celebrates that process of problem solving and creativity in various fields.
