Attention Senior Parents: All Night Prayer Vigil Information!

With graduation quickly approaching we would like to take a moment to familiarize you with one of West Catholic’s wonderful and unique graduation traditions:  The All Night Senior Prayer Vigil.
  • The Senior All Night Prayer Vigil is 8 hours of continuous prayer and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament for the Class of 2019, providing them with a strong spiritual start as they begin their new journey.
  • It is held in the St. Maria Goretti Chapel (next to the cafeteria)  and begins after graduation on May 21 at 9 p.m. (approximately) and continues until 5 a.m. May 22.
  • Seniors names and pictures will be posted in the chapel, and each hour will be dedicated to a specific group of seniors- schedule will be available soon so you can see the hour your child will be lifted in prayer.
  • Each senior will also have a vigil candle, personalized with their name and picture.  This will be on display all night and will be given to the student at the end of the vigil for a keepsake.
  • This vigil is open to ANYONE at ANYTIME during the 8 hour vigil, you are not limited to just your students particular hour.
  • Visitors are welcome to write notes to any senior they wish; writing paper, envelops and pens will be available in the chapel.
  • Volunteers will be on-site all night for safety and parking lot monitoring.
  • Prayerfully consider volunteering as an “anchor” during one of the vigil hours.  2 anchors (a couple or individual) are needed for each hour; they will be responsible for reciting a provided prayer and reading the name if each student assigned to that hour of prayer aloud.  They will also be responsible for ensuring that the Blessed Sacrament is not left alone.  More information will be available shortly with sign up info.
  • Stop by and pray for the seniors at anytime during the vigil, even if its just for a few minutes!
  • Spread the word to family, friends and neighbors!
More detailed information will be forthcoming including a link to Sign-Up genius to volunteer to anchor an hour during the vigil and contact info to have any questions you may have answered.  Please, Please! start sending in your senior’s pictures!  Obtaining these pictures is always a big hurdle for the prayer vigil team, thank you in advance for your help!
