ADMISSIONS > ADMISSIONS EVENTS
The Grand Rapids Catholic Secondary School Admissions Department offers several events to prospective parents and students so they can obtain valuable information about our high schools, ask questions and get a feel for what a day in the life of a student is like. Here are some brief descriptions of the events we offer. To register for any event, please contact Admissions Director Todd Peters at (616) 233-5920 or toddpeters@grcss.org
High School Admissions Informational Panel The Admissions team for both high schools will hold an informational panel discussion at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Donnelly Center on the campus of Aquinas College. Speakers include Tom Maj, President of GRCSS; Heidi Smitley, Director of Guidance; and Jennifer Lahey, GRCSS Business Manager. We will discuss admissions policies, the HSPT and the student transfer process, as well as financial aid. The meeting is geared toward current middle school parents or anyone interested in hearing more about the area Catholic high schools.
A Prospective Student Open House will be held on Sunday, October 9, from 1-3 p.m. at the high school. The purpose is to bring parents and students together; to tour our campus, meet our teachers, learn about our sports programs and hear from the Admissions team about the procedures of becoming a West Catholic student. This new format will replace the 7th/8th grade visit and the two Parent Information Nights. Families can still arrange for their child to shadow a WC student during the school year. Of course, anyone may make an individual appointment to clarify any lingering questions or concerns.
Class of 2016 Parents High School Orientation This event takes place at West Catholic high school in the gym. Parents will have the opportunity to schedule their personal registration appointment with a counselor along with receiving some valuable information from various speakers. You will not turn in any registration materials at this event. |
